The Grace Between

But, we can position ourselves to receive it and we can give it away to others. Advent is a season of grace and more than any other time of year we need to give and receive it. The busyness and pressure of the holidays can lead to unhealthy stress. With God’s grace we can find the peace, the comfort and the joy we so greatly desire during this season of the year and we can share it too. In this series we will look at the grace especially available to us during Advent.

Secrets of Christmas

(4 weeks + Christmas Eve) 

When God came into history in the person of Jesus Christ, he came quietly into this world. Most of the world did not even notice. God revealed his plans secretly to many of the main characters we associate with the Christmas story: Mary, Joseph, the wisemen, the shepherds. God chose to reveal his plans to them quietly and secretly. He revealed his secrets to them because they were willing to listen.

Unwrapping Christmas

In our heart of hearts, we all want to be generous – to be people who are givers. This is because we bear the image of God, and God is a giver. God loves us so much that he gave his most precious gift at Christmas, sending His Son into the world. This is why during the Christmas season we give, as well. In this series, we look at how Christmas invites us into a life of generosity.

Angels

(4 weeks + Christmas Eve)

We are not alone in this world. God uses angels regularly to intervene in the world and pave the way to work and announce what He is doing. These beings may be perceived as mythological, impish, or mysterious to some, but they are actually very alive and active in the world today. Angels serve a key role in the Biblical story (and our lives) as comforters, protectors, messengers, and worshippers. During this series, we will explore the gift of angels and why it matters to believe. For, angels are around us all the time, nearer than we think, and much more useful than we can even imagine.
